my parents watched lucy for the day, so we left in the morning and came back late at night. it's really easy and affordable to take day trips by boat to both estonia and sweden (though sweden really takes a couple of days).
we chose the fastest and cheapest way to get there: *linda line*
this monastery is one of tallinn's oldest buildings from 1246. really fascinating.
beautiful things made of wood and wool can be found in many of the shops.
i would have loved to take one of those sheep home for lucy ♥
many beautiful store-fronts.
love the lace on the top window (left) and linen translations (right)
lovely felted goods
absolutely love all the linen that is available,
including this tread that my parents brought me last time they visited
*mari* was selling her own designed linen dresses at the market.
i think they're designed after traditional estonian styles.
wonderful 'shop for little angels' filled with hand-made goods ♥
hand-made dolls shop *nukupood*
adorable restaurant *kaerajaan* where we had dinner.
tip: as weird as this may sound, go use the bathroom upstairs (right at the top of the stairs, to your left)... crazy
this is what we came home with...
you know i love linen tea towels ♥ from *zizi*
lucy's adorable little linen dress in the smallest available size by *mari*
lucy is totally into puppets right now, so this little guy had to come home with us from *rewill*
apparently it's a sheep, but we think 'siili' looks more like a hedgehog with biggish ears ♥
this little felted beauty came from that 'angel shop' *Poiste ja Tüdrukute Pood*
'heppa' and lucy are good friends already ♥
isn't he handsome? he also came from *Poiste ja Tüdrukute Pood*
last summer mikko, lucy and i went to the old part of quebec city... this year it was tallinn... next year? any suggestions?
